I have started climbing 4 years ago and have always dreamt about climbing high mountains. I arrived at Skardu where was already surrounded by high mountains. As soon as I saw snowcapped mountains when we began our journey by jeep, my heart started pounding. The days walking in the trails and glaciers was wonderful. We spent one very interesting week touring Pakistan with Mr. Hamid Hussain. First our tour started in Lahore where Mr. Hamid organized a very extensive cultural program. Then our tour took us to the Khyora Salt Mine, Islamabad, Taxila, Peshawar, Swat and Rawalpindi. Everywhere Mr. Hamid was eager to explain the history and also organize knowledgeable local guides. This has been our first time to Northern Pakistan, and it has been an eye opener in many respects, the mountain peaks, the natural sites, the historical sites, the food and specially the people. Particularly enjoyed Khaplu, Hunza under the eye of Rakaposhi mountain and the unforgettable trip (by jeep and by foot) up to Fairy Meadows with beautiful view of Nangaparbat.
