Trango Tower is one of the most spectacular rock climbing regions on earth with sheer granite walls soaring endlessly upwards. The expedition approaches the famous Trango Tower via the same ridgeline leading to Great Trango’s summit. The climb involves a 500m ascent to Camp 1 protected by large boulders, followed by moderate snow and rock slopes to Camp 2 beneath Trango Tower. The summit day follows a knife-edge ridge leading to the summit snowfields. This expedition offers breathtaking alpine scenery and some of the most picturesque campsites in the world, surrounded by towering rock spires and peaks of the upper Baltoro valley.

Day 01

ISLAMABAD

Arrival in Islamabad

Day 02

ISLAMABAD – SKARDU/CHILAS

Fly to Skardu or drive to Chilas (12–14 hrs if flight cancelled)

Day 03

CHILAS – SKARDU

Free day at Skardu or complete road journey (7–8 hrs, 275 km) with views of Nanga Parbat

Day 04

SKARDU

Briefing at Tourism Department, Skardu

Day 05

SKARDU – ASKOLE – TRANGO BASE CAMP

Jeep drive to Askole (3000m, 5–6 hrs) and trek to Trango Base Camp

Day 06

ASKOLE – JOLA

Trek from Askole to Jola (3300m, 5 hrs)

Day 07

JOLA – PAYU

Trek from Jola to Payu (3240m, 5–6 hrs)

Day 08

REST DAY AT PAYU

Rest day at Payu for acclimatization

Day 09

PAYU – TRANGO BASE CAMP

Trek from Payu to Trango Base Camp (4200m, 6–7 hrs)

Day 10–30

CLIMBING PERIOD

20 days for acclimatization and climbing

RETURN TREK

Trek back to Skardu via the same route
